We're looking for experienced Vinyasa, Yin, Prenatal, and Postnatal teachers
who are excited about our mission + culture.
If that's you, please come in and take some classes with us to make sure our teaching style and studio culture
feel like a good fit for you.

1. A note about why our mission and teaching style resonate with you.
2. Your full resume (both Yoga and Non-Yoga resumes if you have them, please!)
3. If applicable, links to your website, social media, or any other online yoga presence.
4. A photo of your smiling face! (Just so we can connect your name to a human. :-)
5. Your thoughts, impressions, and/or feedback on your visit(s) to the studio.
If you seem like a potential fit, we will reach out to schedule an interview.
If the interview goes well, the final step will be the audition!
Details of the audition process will be provided after the interview stage.

We are NOT interested in asking teachers to hide their true selves in order to fit in with our culture!
Building community is at the heart of Oak + Lotus’ mission. So we’re looking for teachers who will get to know our students, take other teachers’ classes, and truly become a part of our community. Who view Oak + Lotus as their own yoga home, and are excited to welcome students into that home.

We believe that all bodies are yoga bodies, and do all we can to ensure that every body that wants to practice with us feels welcome and safe in our space. We’re all about props and options! (Not “modifications”) And we’re mindful to offer them in a way that makes our students feel empowered, and *never* makes them feel “less than” for choosing a different approach to a pose or transition. We watch our students while we're teaching and offer helpful cues and assists as needed, ensuring that no yogi is left behind in our classes!
Self-Care + Empowerment
We believe our role as teachers is to empower our students to safely make choices in their practice that fit their unique needs and intentions. We’re not focused on offering our students a great workout - they can get that anywhere. We believe the true power of yoga comes from its ability to heal and strengthen our students mentally, emotionally, and physically. So our teaching emphasizes self-care, connecting with your inner teacher, honoring your body’s changing states on any given day, and making the choices that suit you best, regardless of what happened last time they were on the mat or what’s happening on the mat next to them.
We focus on secular, modern-day applications of the yoga philosophy and science-based physical anatomy. If the religious and/or esoteric layers of the yoga world (chanting, referencing Hindu mythology, energy work, subtle bodies, chakras, crystals, etc.) are your jam, we totally respect that. That’s just not what we’re looking to offer at Oak + Lotus.

Consistency
Consistency across classes is the at the heart of our teaching culture at Oak + Lotus. We want our students to feel comfortable and confident that they know exactly what kind of experience they can expect when they choose a class with us. We have detailed class structures and guidelines for our teachers to ensure that consistency, and are looking for teachers who value being a part of a strong, consistent teaching culture.
